Southern Ground Horn-bill

Notice that the one bird has something in his mouth. I believe it is a clump of leaves. The bird is the largest of the horn bill species. It lives 50 to 60 years and has a wing span can be up to 5 feet. Very interesting bird

This was in Kruger National Park. 4 weeks in the park I ran into these and had never seen them or heard of them before. They are threatened. When they take off in flight it is an incredible sight. I believe I was on H4-1 headed toward Lower Sabie rest camp. About 6 miles out of Skukuza camp

Thank you. I've been to Kenya, if there is a next time it will be southern Africa.
