What I'm shooting these days

>I’d recommend you find something high quality and buy both the best camera and lens(s) you can afford.

Always good advice. I bought equipment in college and I'm still using it. And since I was a college student at a state university, I didn't (couldn't) spend a fortune. Or even half a fortune. <g> Harry PS I was shooting mostly dance/theatre so I got an 85mm 1.8. It was my only lens for years and it served me well. I did a lot of zooming with my feet, of course. I ended up using it for bird dog field trials also. Taught me to keep my horse at the front of the gallery. <g> It was a little short sometimes so I bought a 70-200 which worked well. Then I bought a 35MM to use as an EDC around town. Those three are still my main "go to" lens. Oh, and a 1.4 extender and finally a 70-300. Now I'm set. I'm retired so I don't do any theatre work these days and what I have suits me for field trials of bird dogs and English Cockers (two different venues). Harry PS I guess that I could use an 18-300 or perhaps a 28-300 for bird dogs as sometimes they are right in front of you and sometimes a half mile away. I don't like changing lens at a bird dog field trial because my kind uses horses as transportation rather than feet. And believe me, you don't want to drop a lens from horseback in an overgrown country field in the middle if a trial. Or when crossing a stream. Harry
