The Delaware Bay is home for the Sailing Ship MEERWALD and one gray day a young man came flying by on a Hydrofoil board.
An interesting juxtaposition.

Talk about timing. Great shot
A friend of mine is a volunteer crew member on the A J Meerwald. I've been telling him for years I was going to go for a sail but haven't yet gotten down there. I guess I better just do it. Very nice blend of history and future as you say. Thanks for posting
When you canβt afford the creature comforts on the return trip.
Nice catch showing the contrasting technologies of water craft.
Is that board electrically propelled? The only time Iβve seen these the rider was using a handheld sail or a kite.

The Meerwald is currently being totally refurbished and should be back in Bivalve this fall. Can't wait to see her. Here are a few sunrise/sunset shots on board
yes it is battery powered and a hydrofoil, it flies just above the water. Very cool but I'll take the Meerwald
Thank you she is a special experience in South Jersey and I can't wait for her return. Ya gotta sail with her in September
