Last Saturday at South Boston’s M Street Beach. Considering the current rise in Covid cases, this doesn't appeal to me. Actually, a scene like this never did.
last time i was that close to that many people, the Adjutant has just said, "PASS in REVIEW!"
I would fear I would wander off to pee and never find my family again? 😕
Way too many people for me.

With a crowd like that, why wander"? No one would notice.
On one day some years ago my wife wanted to see the ocean, so we went to Hampton Beach. You could see the ocean but you couldn't get there for all the people. Same with Salisbury Beach. Why do people want that?

Yes, I have seen such scenes as this on our beaches on hot days (we do get them!) Many people are prepared to join long queues for car parks and eateries/toilets and then even longer queues and hold ups to get out on the road home!...They must be nuts!
And then there's the kid in front who tries to weave through the crowd saying, "I gotta go, I really gotta go!!"
I would hate to be there, too many people and way too noisy.. Give me Cornwall any day...

We've got C19 licked. Figures have dropped to almost zero - since the Government stopped handing out free tests.

I used to live several large beaches, and I knew enough to stay off the highway in the late afternoon.

The numbers in the two local counties have been rising - 600 - 900 cases now. Of course, that's only for people who are tested at medical facilities, so you can probably double those numbers. My son tested positive Saturday night with a home test, but he's not going to be added to the total.
Fortunately, the symptoms for this variant are fairly mild - sore throat, cough, trouble breathing. Several people I know have gotten it, and they were feeling okay in a little over a week.

That's my point. Our oldest sprog tested positive through a self purchased test (as mentioned previously the Government has stopped handing out free test kits to all but the 'At risk' category). He can't enter a positive result on the Government Website - and he is not the only one I know of.
So, officially we here in Stokenchurch have a rate so low it's not worth mentioning I suspect that's not the case.
And I fear a return in the Winter with some being unable to feed / heat themselves.

I think the people who don't mind are the ones that are there.
Avoidance of the odds of COVID (and other communicable diseases) is a defensive sport....unless you live in Shanghai, China which is playing an offensive game. Which would you choose? Being responsible for your own precautions or living where leaving your home is a punishable offense?
