The first was at the pond when I shot Fox & Friends yesterday. I noticed the second crossing the street today while I was eating lunch. It seemed to like the water running down the street.

Excellent shots - I think the first is a painted turtle and the second an alligator snapping turtle

Hope you left the second one alone, since he's definitely a snapping turtle! I've helped them cross a roadway many times, but they always try and bite me. Plus snappers get big -- the largest I've seen was over a foot in length, but they can get much larger than that.

Hard to tell from this young specimen, but it looks more like a common rather than a alligator snapper to me.

Thanks Tramsey. A few years ago there was a huge alligator turtle roaming between our three ponds. I was scaring people, so I think it was removed.

looks like two different breeds
The second looks to be a hard-shelled snapper
