I hope some like this result? Apologies in advance to those that don’t.
I used natural light from the right-front (window), augmented with an incandescent light bulb under the lampshade left-rear. I then fully opened the lens (Canon’s superb 85mm f/1.4 L IS USM) with a medium shutter speed (1/80s) and a moderate ISO (640).
This helped me create a little depth to the image, with the light effects to give intimacy to the scene with the foreground model in-focus, together with dreamy light & soft/out of focus rendering to the model in mid ground, with pleasing bokeh effects on background rococo boudoir props.
This is just an example, with enough post processing remaining to show “work in progress”, prior to delivery of the final series.

Love the idea and soft focus of rear model. The front model's expression doesn't quite work for me though, but the monochrome treatment is ideal for this image.

If the client was happy, that is all that counts. If you were "the client" then you should be proud of your work, because you got what you wanted. The image has an attitude and personality, and I find it attractive.
