I Got Some Hummers!

I don't usually even try to shoot birds because I'm not good at it. But y'all are making me be more aware of birds instead of just ignoring them. Today at the Arboretum there wasn't much in bloom, so my attention turned to the few birds around. I know these aren't up to Joe's standard, but I'm sort of proud of them.
I even got one in mid-hover!

Thanks, Ron. My bird shooting is definitely "casual." My "iffy" camera does a pretty good job when it decides to work. These were mostly shot on 1000 shutter speed and shutter speed preferred. That helps.

Beautiful set, Kathy. Especially love the last two images. Your full birdbath is a great venue for bird photography.

Thanks, Joe. It's a water feature at the Arboretum. It's in a little area off one of the paths. The surprising thing is that few people frequent it. Even when there are no birds, it's a lovely place to sit a spell.
