Had an afternoon and drove the BRP from Asheville to Brevard, hoping to see a patch of Large-flowered white trilliums; indeed I did. A lovely shower blew through, freshening things up, followed by a patch of late-afternoon sun. Perfect! Got a special batch of images...

Great work! I love the Blue Ridge Parkway, and sometimes head there for just a nice, lazy day trip (for those not in the know, the Parkway is a two-lane stretch of highway with a 35 mph speed limit).

The last time I drove the BRP, which wasn't long ago, the most common speed limit was 45 mph, with numerous locations having a speed limit of 25 and 35, but, for the most part it was 45. The Skyline Drive, which is the northern 105 mile section of the road, running through the Shenandoah National Park has a speed limit of 35 mph.
