I had in the past seen pressed flowers scanned, because of the limited depth of field... but new scanners may have greater DOF. I found the following articles so now you and I have a weekend of reading:

I'm familiar with her work.....it's amazing. Her attention to detail is incredibile. Just wish I could afford a piece or two.

Thank you for the reading material. I have no idea what I'm doing with this "scanner" project so maybe I'll learn something.
