Cartoonists seem to like the topic of fitted sheets. Folding is overrated. Just make a smaller bundle and put it in the closet.

I don't fold sheets or any other stuff. My wife does the folding, I take the laundry 🧺 down to the basement and put em in the washer and dryer.
