We were having dinner tonight and I asked her what music she would like during dinner. She thought a moment and said, "Linda Ronstadt". About two months ago we had a Sonos Arc installed for the TV. As a feature of the Sonos system, I was able to tap into my complete music library on a dedicated hard drive in my PC. I have 43,000 mp3 files, including many full albums. I converted(ripped) many of my CD's to mp3 files. I have thousands of files from the former Napster and Limewire and thousands of Youtube audio tracks in my music library. I purchased two additional Sonos speakers which allows me to listen to any of my music files on my PC. Amazing technology.
So, I opened the Sonos app on my iPhone and found Linda's "Round Midnight", double CD album. (she won one of her 10 Grammy's for this incredible album.) Here is the title song of that album. Unfortunately, the entire album is not available on Youtube. If you have not heard this absolutely incredible album, see if you can find a few of its tracks. Well worth the effort. Here are two of the tracks:
Round Midnight (BTW - A Thelonious Monk composition)

She is amazing, in *any* genre. Her "Canciones de mi Padre" performance is particularly spectacular.

Thanks Mark, I’ll listen to her tomorrow - she is always excellent. I go all the way back to when she was with The Stone Ponys. Thanks for reminding me.
For the last day or two, I’ve had an ear worm of Peter Paul and Mary’s rendition of the Bob Dylan song “When The Ship Comes In” spinning around in my brain, so today I listened to several of their old albums remastered In lossless format from Apple’s hi def streaming service, and like you, I remembered how much I loved them - they were the first folk I listened to about 63 years ago as I recall
A little gal with a big voice.
Awesome Album.
Great songs- “Am I Blue”
“I Love You for Sentimental Reasons”
And what a great orchestra.
Thx Mark

Circa 1968 I saw Linda Ronstadt at a coffee house called the Main Point on the Main Line in Bryn Mawr, PA while attending Villanova.
I sat front row center enjoying hot chocolate and a fudge covered brownie (severe munchies) about 5 feet from her and fell in love. She mentioned the Stone Poneys and sang Different Drum which made me exceedingly happy. Years later I saw her at the Oakdale Theater (theater in the round) in Wallingford, CT.
About a week after seeing Linda at the Main Point I saw Joni Mitchell seated in the same seat and fell in love again (fickled youth). She sang Both Sides Now after mentioning some may have heard it called "Clouds" ala Judy Collins.

I admire her singing voice, but I was shocked to hear her speak...........I am unable to describe it, sorry!
I'll just bet you have her work with Nelson Riddle too. Your first track was one of the tracks done with his orchestra. Thanks for your wonderful postings, I often share them.
She's one of my favorite!
She was always a favorite of mine. Melanie, too.
Very nice you can accommodate your bride with any song for dinner. You’re her own personal DJ.
Thanks for the share. Only blue toothspeaker I have is in the bathroom fan. So paired and sat on the thrown listened to several of her's. Brought back great memories. Butt sore.

A supposed true story about Linda. She was appearing on the Johnny Cash show way back when and pshe showed up in a very mini mini-skirt. While back stage preparing for the show June Cash noticed that Linda wasn’t wearing any panties under the skirt. She gave an assistant $20 and told Linda to go with her to the store and “ get yourself some bloomers, because you’re not going on stage with my husband, looking like that”. 😂😂😂
Thank you all for the comments. I'm short on time today and very late for a weekly rendezvous with friends.
Gotta go!

It was probably a hot summer night.
