There has been a lot of controversy lately about these white Herons? Egrets? with black/blue spots and speckles on them. The Little Blue Heron juveniles look like that until they become adults. But I'm convinced that they are hybrids, they are too big to be Juvenile Little Blues. These are the first I've seen in this area around Tampa, but I've seen and photographed several similar to these photos in the Lake Apopka, north of Orlando area.
