Another view from Sand Beach to the south.
I saw just pitch black but the camera pulled out details from the darkness. This finished image is darkened from what the work-in-process was revealing.

Really nice. It is still amazing to me what a D850 can do in the dark
Nice shot, didn't know the beach was open at night.

Very nice- and an especially clear calm night at that! I am always amused by the name "Sand Beach". While most people would think it is a little bit redundant and wonder why a beach would have such a silly name, you have to understand that Maine, with over 3500 miles of coastline, has only about 36 miles of what you might call beach. And some of those beaches consist of round pebbles which are most uncomfortable to lie out on during the 6 weeks of summer.... Many beaches in Maine (especially once you get north of Kennebunkport) are just 30 yards of sand in between seaweed covered and periwinkle-encrusted rock...

Oh yeah. You can get on the Park 24/7 and drive the Park Loop Road including Cadillac Mtn. The Mtn and Sand Beach become restricted later this month subject to reservations. The Road is closed during the winter months but you can still in get to hike or ski or bike if you feel so inclined. During the day, a Pass is required. I have a NPS Senior LIfetime pass.

You are right. The D850 is the King of Stills Camera. Evolutionary product.
