I guess you cannot read and just like to look at pictures. Reading the page will answer all questions.

Yes they are Japanese, just like Nikon. When you buy a camera from Nikon you don’t deal with Nikon in Japan, you deal with Nikon USA. Now I know you used to own a photography store. Did you stock Tamron? If so did you order directly from Japan or from their US entity? Just because I can go to a page for that lens on their Japanese website isn’t very convincing. Especially since the photo on that page is of a different lens. I’m a web developer. It’s what I do for a living. If I see a website with ambiguous info I’m not gonna put much trust in it, especially given the fact that the lens in question doesn’t exist on the US website AND the OP’s call to Tamron confirming the lens is discontinued.
