Doddy Loc: Barnard Castle-England

Castle Howard is an imposing Country house sitting in 1000 acres of beautiful parkland and gardens.We visited there on holiday recently, it is not far from the City of York. The House was the setting for various TV programmes (Brideshead and Bridgerton) as well many Films. It was built over 300 years ago on the site of an earlier castle. The parkland contained large Gardens and woodland areas in which trees and shrubs from all over the world are planted.

It was a joy to walk the grounds


This is heavily cropped, it was away in the distance, and I believe it is the family Mausoleum.


Even the beautiful gardens had statues.


Another part of the extensive gardens, gardeners were everywhere planting and keeping everything in tip top shape.
