Was cleaning out my horse trough and found this guy underneath. Does anybody have any information on it.
I think it's a Hop-Toad. It's either severely sun burned, or embarrassed and easily blushed. I could be wrong, of course, seeing as how I'm not an expert on toads. I've heard they'll give you warts if handled incorrectly. And Tom Sawyer used them along with stump water and the first half of a snake's tail to cast spells. Let me know if you come up with a more scientific identification, otherwise it's still a red hop-toad. Gizzy

MTG44, whatever it is, it looks like it has been eating good. Tejaswrangler :)
according to Audubon It is likely a American Toad. Their ranges from brown to brick red. Up to 4 1/2" long. I've seen several but a red one.
