I am considering enlarging these images...Not both.
1 is the color version, and
2 is the B/W version
Both have there own attributes.
Rich!
When you say enlarge, do you mean make prints? If so, I prefer the image in color but I would tone down the central highlights a touch.
Be well! Ed

The location of the tree bothers me. I assume this is Mono Lake and I would look for a similar image of other tufa without the tree as the foreground element. May opinion only: maker has, as always, the final say.
I also always prefer B&W

Thanks for the input, Longshadow. I too like the color more, but I think the B/W shows an eerie view.

Im thinking of making an enlarged aluminum image, maybe about 30 x 40. Thanks for your input, it is much appreciated.

Hi BobHartung, Yes, it certainly is Mono Lake. This image is just one of MANY that I have. I just wanted to get an opinion of either color or B/W. Absolutely thanks for looking and your opinion. Much appreciated.

Color far superior there for me.
I also find the plant centered on the formation and the formation dead center very disturbing.
Rich!
Disregard my earlier post! If you print on Aluminum, you would NOT need to tone down the highlights as they will take on a metallic color. In that case, the highlights would not "off-white" but gray. I would prefer the B&W but you should get a smaller test print as these prints, in my opinion, print a touch darker.
I've had a number of metallic prints by Adorama as I live only several blocks away for a show of fine art nudes and they came out beautifully.

If it were mine, I would go with the color and crop some from the right side of the photo. You do what feels good to you.

Because of the photo itself I would prefer a B&W. IF you go with B&W the key is a full range of gray to make the photo appealing. They both are a little flat for my tastes and the angle could be a little more better. There is an earlier comment on the tree and I agree with that comment.

I much prefer color. I would suggest - from what I've seen of Mono Lake - that you probably have a better view in your collection.
