I've noticed a strange coincidence with Amazon lately. Their next day delivery has not been honored for the last 3 buys. They promised 1 day at checkout, but received messages at the end of the promised days stating they can't deliver that day. "It's running late" is the excuse. C'mon 3 seperate times? I hope this not a new trend. Is Amazon having internal problems? BTW I did not receive anything the next day.
I still expect my orders in a week.
If it comes in early, I'm happy.
I have noticed that sometimes the one day shipping is calculated from when they actually ship. If you order on Monday and they ship on Wednesday and it comes on Thursday,... one day shipping. But no matter what, I am amazed at how fast they get things to you and if you have Prime, how cheap they are able to ship it.

There are problems for everyone in our Country right now. It's not all Amazons fault, and no, I'm not connected with Amazon in any way except to buy something now and then.

Of the 4 services that deliver to me (UPS, FedX, USPS and Amazon), Amazon is head and shoulders above the rest. Always placed at my front door, even if the delivery person has to carry it 500’ up my driveway. USPS is next with FedX air excellent as well and FedX and UPS all over the place, depending on the driver, often leaving packages at the street and in the rain. Amazon is doing what IBM did in the 60s when the judge in a federal anti trust suit said something to the effect of: “seems that what IBM is guilty of is doing what they do better than anyone else”.
Then don't promise next day. We all have problems.

I get several packages every month delivered by Amazon, and I don't remember the last time one was late. I've even received packages early. Odds are the late delivery issues you've experienced recently are a local issue.
I’ve noticed many of my Amazon orders are handed off to the Post Office, but they are still on time. It is so frequent that I’ve been wondering what the Post Office is making on this.

Don't order anything from them. No more bit#hing.
Living in little Rockport, TX I never pay attention to the next day delivery promise as I know it just really is not practical. Given the ability to shop online with confidence and free shipping (relatively) is a huge benefit in an area with very minimal options.

I have an Amazon warehouse about 90 miles away from me and 2 more are being built within 20 miles of my house. So I expect my deliveries to get better. I recently ordered something that they said would be delivered the next day and I thought to myself "I will believe it when it actually happens".
Well, it did. It showed up next day in the mail. Can it get any better? YES! We often spend winters in Florida and where we stay, there is an Amazon warehouse about 5 miles away. I often ordered items in the morning that were delivered that afternoon, delivered by Amazon in their own trucks.
My last three purchases from Amazon were predicted to arrive in 4 days, and arrived in two
I ordered crossbars for my Honda HRV from Amazon. I wasn't in any sort of rush so their 3 to 5-day delivery promise was fine with me. On the 5th day, Amazon sent me an email indicating the delivery was running behind. It arrived on the 6th day and Amazon sent me another email apologizing for the delay and crediting my account the $15 shipping charge.
For a variety of reasons I have mixed feelings about Amazon but I have to admit it was pretty nice of them to do this without my asking or complaining.
