Android photo to Lightroom Classic?

To Mr. and Mrs. Lightroom Classic and all the ships at sea,
I have been making slow progress in getting a phone photo into LRC. I can get it to my desktop via LR mobile.
I can then download it. After that I go to LRC and go to 'source' images. However, no matter what source I try, especially my S21 Galaxy folder, the selected photo never appears in LRC. What do I have to do to get it into LRC? Driving me nuts.
Below is one part of what Tim Grey had to say on the subject:
Another option would be to use the camera feature of the Lightroom mobile app to capture photos, or import photos captured with your smartphone Camera app into the Lightroom mobile app. Those photos will then be synchronized to the cloud, and they will appear in Lightroom Classic as long as synchronization is enabled there. You could then move the photos to your preferred storage location. However, the photos would still appear in your cloud-based storage, consuming space there. You would therefore want to go back to the Lightroom mobile app and delete the photos manually after you're sure they've been moved to your preferred storage location, which is a bit cumbersome.
MY PROBLEMS:
The camera in LRC mobile is not as good as the camera function of the Phone with much less functionality. My photos do reach the cloud as evidenced by their presence in Google Photos. The 'synch' function in LRC is probably not the one intended to get my photos into LRC. I assume my 'preferred storage location' would be my S21 folder.
Can anyone help me with this?
Thanks,

What LR Classic version? Simply open and check the Help / About menu.

Are the image files RAW or JPEG? Any / all JPEG are supported by all versions of LR. If RAW, you have to double-check the LR (desktop) Classic support by camera / phone version.

You have to identify a shared collection, either the generic shared collection or the attributes of a user-created collection to share contents of that collection between the various LR software. Check the attributes of the collection you're trying to use. Update as needed.

You can specify the target folder for synced images in Preferences > Lightroom Sync. You check "Specify location for Lightroom's Synced images" and choose the folder or directory.

If you turn on Enable Auto Add in your Android Lightroom preferences, your device's camera's pictures should sync with LrC.

The Google Photos cloud is not the Adobe cloud. Can you check in Preferences in the Lightroom app on your phone to see if "Enable Auto Add" is set to on. If it is, the phone's camera files should automatically import into the Lightroom phone app and be in the Adobe cloud. Yes, you photos may end up in two different clouds, Google's and Adobe's. Once in Adobe's cloud, Lightroom Classic should then be able to sync.

It can be tricky to set up. Once it is, you can snap a phone photo, go home and find it on your computer in Classic.

My procedure goes like this:
I use a Motorola phone. All pictures are JPGs and are uploaded to Google Photos automatically. I simply download those to an appropriate named folder in my Downloads folder(Windows computer) then move that folder into my master photo folder called "All Lightroom Photos". Next, import that folder into lightroom(Lightroom Classic). So far this has never failed me.

Here's what I do:
- Connect your Android to a port on your computer and make sure the Android isn't locked.
- Find your photos on the Android and drag and drop them into a folder on the computer.
- You need to import the photos into LR Classic. The import button is found close to the lower left corner of the Library module in LRC.

I have an iPhone but the process is the same. I open LR on my phone and import from the camera roll. I have a collection in my LRC that is synced and any photos in my Adobe cloud show up there.

Hi DWU2,
Thanks. I usually down load images from my phone into a folder labeled as such. I am very anxious to try your method. However, how does LRC know what to download when I hit 'import?'

Tom, I went into LRC preferences and then to LR sync. I could not add a folder that should be synched to LR mobile like my 'S21 pictures' folder.
I also could not see any 'settings' option when I went into my LR mobile app.
How can this be so maddening?
Thanks,

Not a folder, a collection. Once it’s in the collection you can move it to any folder you want.

It will ask you for the location of the files.
