Just came across an itns-500 scanner. 4x6 photos, 35 mm negative strips and 35 mm slides. Scanned a couple photos at 3600 and it works good. Photos are as good as original. Paid $12 for our. Brand new in the box. Older unit for old windows. People say it would not work on win 10, but it does. Not a bad unit for the money.

For $12 its worth it even if all it did for you is archiving receipts, forms mailed out, etc etc.

Yes frankraney, worth the search...

I purchased 3 Minolta AF lenses that fit my Sony A65 from Goodwill Auction for $51 plus shipping.. all 3 are good/clean/scratch-free.

Locally at the Hospis Shop a 100mm macro Minolta AF, for $10. It cost me $20 to buy a spanner to remove and clean the inside of the outer lens.

Yeah. I have my flatbed scanner, but it only does photos, and it is across the room so I have to get up every time I scan a photo. This one is small and I can sit it on my desk temporarily. Quality for photos is as good as my flatbed.

Every once in a while I find something when I wasn't even looking for it. I found lenses also I found cameras I find a lot of stuff. Sometimes people like me buy a bunch of stuff and then don't use it then when they clean house they donate it and sometimes the states are given away and a lot of times it's brand new stuff. So every once in awhile if you keep your eyes open you can get lucky.

I am always on the hunt for old slide scanners for there are some of them that have EXCELLENT lenses that make EXCELLENT macro lenses albeit a bit of creative adapting is required to mount them.

Scanners are high resolution which makes them ideal optics for bringing out the finest of details.

Any ecosystem would quickly and totally fail without scavengers. We may even be the most important actors of all !

I was outbid at Shop Goodwill on a Tamron 1.4 teleconverter. It was described as used but in good condition. On a whim I checked ebay and found one on buy it now for $18. It was new in box and marked $188.
