I like this photo very much, but I have a question. Obviously the couple is what you want the viewer to focus on. But if everything in the image is given the same attention as far as lighting and the length of the picture with so many objects displayed, how does the couple become the focus of attention?

To my eye, the leading line of the scooters leads me to the couple. Nice capture.

Re this question: "how does the couple become the focus of attention?" The eye of the viewer will automatically go to the human face in a photograph.

This is street photography, no posing, no second chance. I was photographing old buildings when I saw the couple. I was using a D610 with the 28-105 AF-D lens and I cropped the image to make it look like a wide angle view. Not much time to think about what is the best composition, I came closer to the bikes, set focus and shot. Under other circumstances I would have used burning-in around the couple but I never thought that by doing so I would help the image, on the contrary it could hurt it. In street photography we shoot at the "decisive moment." I make no claims as to be an expert in this type of photography, I am learning.
I agree that the bikes not only act as a leading line but also as a repetition factor which supports the simple composition.

The couple stands out in part because they are different. In a line of similar objects, the odd one will get your attention. And it doesn't hurt that the couple is framed by those two massive tree trunks. Good shot, camerapapi.
