Abandoned River Bridge.........
This abandoned river bridge spans the San Antonio River on old County Road 117 in Wilson County near Floresville, Texas. It was built in 1890, and abandoned in 1986 when replaced by a modern concrete bridge built beside it. I noticed that it has a wood plank floor and many planks were missing or coming loose. It is presently fenced off from the public.
The picture was taken with a Sony A200 DSLR with a vintage Minolta 35-105mm lens, f11, 1/80 sec., IO 100, Manual Mode, no tripod, taken on 10-28-12. Tejaswrangler :)

cool --Skeleton bridge!! just in time for halloween
When in it's final days your photo will still be reminiscent of the time it was there.
Nice composure, that you were able to get, without showing the new bridge.

SENSORLOUPE, kinda funny what you said about it being just in time for halloween. Thanks for viewing this picture. Tejaswrangler :)
I love this sort of thing. Would recommend you revisit the site after the leaves have fallen, should have a more forelorn look.

SoHillGuy, I took this picture while standing on the shoulder of the new, ugly concrete bridge. Not much of a shoulder, combined with a low railing, and seeing a large truck in the distance heading my way, I wasted little time in getting a couple of pictures.
You are correct, when that bridge is no longer in existence, I will be glad that I have these pictures.
Thanks for viewing this picture and taking the time to post a response. Tejaswrangler :)
