It's been five days since I ordered the DJI Osmo Pocket camera from Amazon, and they still don't have a shipping date, so I cancelled the order. That's $188 saved. I could get fast delivery if I ordered the same thing for $215, but I can do without it.

My microwave died so I needed to stir-fry breakfast in a skillet this morning. Any other news updates from the community? I can last to Thursday when the replacement is due for installation.

Jerry, can you come over and help me with my laundry? Out of your 132000 posts, we're any of them useful?

$188 would be a "cheap" uke.

You're very good at finding links for things. Maybe you should try to find links to cures for impulse buying...

Didn't you write in an earlier post that you ordered it from a "third party" Amazon vendor at an unheard of low price?

It is probably a good thing anyway. The Osmo Pocket was replaced by the Pocket 2. The really magical set of features comes when you get the Pocket 2 with the "Creative Combo". Without that, you would have had a bargain but probably a disappointing one.

I wouldn't dare!

I actually like the idea of that little gimbal camera, and I can imagine some uses for it. Waiting five days to get a shipping date made me suspicious, though. It was being sold by a business on Amazon, which is nothing unusual, but I was getting suspicious because this had never happened before. If I decide I still want one, they are available for $199, while the supply lasts. Paying $350 for the newer version is out of the question.

Based on what I've learned since owning the "newer version" is that the older one is probably not worth $199. It wasn't that good. The newer version is worth its price because it is a very good video camera that solves stability and audio problems while getting quality footage.

Oooh! You just activated my "Impulse Buy" gene.

Maybe the price will drop in a couple of months.

There are rumors of a third version, so perhaps the price of the second version will drop.

I bought mine on an impulse! I first impulsively bought a DJI Mini 2 "aerial camera" as a personal holiday present many months ago. Then I read the drone regulations and returned it unopened. It occurred to me that I could get a lot of the footage I wanted with a Pocket 2 on a long stick so I impulsively bought that instead. When Costco started selling the Mini 2 drone the third impulse struck and I now have both.

Both impulses have improved my video and image recording. Of all the things that improved, the wireless audio tools in the Pocket 2 Creator Combo package have done the most for me.

There is always cereal, PB&J and ice cream - no heating needed at all.
