Nikon Time Delay

I know how to program an exposure delay or a time delay when I want to get into a group shot, with a Nikon DSLR; anyone know if it is possible to set up a delay when shooting video with a Nikon DSLR? Example, ya want to join in on the action but you are the one setting up the camera, can you program a delay before the video begins recording so you can get in on the action?

Curious as to what "action" you are trying to capture. Are the subject standing still or are they moving around? Try setting your shortest time-delay, usually 2 decs and simply blend into your shooting zone and join the other people. Exit using same methods.

for video you can start the camera way before the action and then simply cut the beginning out in editing.

Good suggestion; I already have DaVinci Resolve on my desktop computer. I have it for another project I have yet to begin.

How about starting the camera with a wireless remote? I often do that with stills, but I've never done it with video on a DSLR.

Windows 10 Photos app is an easy way to cut off parts of a video that you do no want to keep.
