Hi folks,
Glad to say I Just bought a D 7000 with 18-105 Vr lens after disposing of my old D 80 which served well 3-4 years. I already have a nikkor 70-300 VR II & manfrotto CY 732 with 460mg pan head. I guess I have some basic good gear with me & I hope to begin soon the learning process. My main interests being travel, landscape, hiking & a bit of wildlife.
I am very thankful to all on UHH who gave good suggestions for this upgrade. Will post pics after a little while. WOuld be glad to hear your views on the gear I have acquired.
Looks like you've got great gear and are on your way with 18 through 300mm. If you can afford it a macro lens would be a good addition as you're going to come across flowers and small critters just begging to be photographed. We look foward to your posts.

Congratulations on your new equipment. You will be very happy with your D7000. The 18-105mm lens is a very good, very versatile walking around lens. I used it for a long time until I upgraded to 18-200mm.
Good shooting, have fun.

You do indeed have some nice equipment. I agree with the macro suggestion above and would highly recommend the 105mm. The 105mm also performs well for portraits if you're so inclined.
I want a nikon 7000d.... Where did you buy it from?... Did you get a good price?
Many many thanks to you all friends on this great forum.
The macro & a ND grad are on my list, but not in the near future.(weight & money):) Right now brushing up the manual while the weather straightens out. Will need some time before posting pics. And for Shine 11, I live in Bangalore, India & got it here, the last in 20 pieces. all of which were bought away !
Okay ... Thanx to all... Will try and find a deal locally
