Croatia
Trogir is a charming little town located on one of the islands in the South of the country.
Founded by Greeks, Trogir, during its more than 22 centuries of history, had been ruled by numerous European powers, including Croatians, Venetians, Hungarians, Napoleonic occupants, Habsburg Empire, Yugoslavian Kingdom, Fascist Italy, Tito's Communist Yugoslavia, until finally became a part of Croatia in 1992.
Tourism is a crucial economic factor of the town. It is one of the most visited ports in Croatia that boasts two yacht marines. Fishing and agriculture are also important parts of the local development. The shipyard "Trogir" has a capacity of two ships up to 55.000 ton. The main tourist place is the Old Town with its famous Promenade lined with hotels, restaurants, and cafes.
My itinerary allowed only a few short hours to see the town, and not enough time to visit its many historic sights, except for the Kamerlengo Fortress that also made an excellent vantage point affording beautiful views.
Let's take a walk around...Hope, you won't get bored!
