Squirrels can jump farther than you might think and will eat almost anything. Be careful where you place bird feeders.

Nice image. I have to rig up a better way to feed the humming birds. A couple of years ago the squirrels were using the feeders that I put out for the Hummers as a water fountain. I didn't even bother last year. I had enough flowers that I still got the Hummers but I didn't get many photos because you never knew which flowers they would visit.

Maybe you have forgotten Rocky the Flying Squirrel and his faithless companion Bullwinkle THE Moose? Nothing is safe when the little varmints take to the air! Chaos reigns supreme and can be lots of fun. If you think B-I-Fs are difficult, try capturing a S-I-F!!! Pray the little urchin isn't kamikaze-induced or you are in truble. Smucker's grape jelly seems to be their Achilles heels, it puts them in a trance, so you can steal their nutz.

At least the squirrels do not usually destroy the bird feeder itself. Racoons not only eat the feed they rip up the feeder or haul it away. Then again bears are even worse - they rip up not only the feeder but whatever you hang the feeder from.

You got that right. I have lost several feeders to racoons. Thay can straddle just about any squirrel baffle.
