at the Boyce Thompson Arboretum. Thought I'd catch the iris in bloom - but only a few. Spent a lot of frames trying to shoot a couple of hummers. Now, remember, folks, I AM NOT A BIRDER! In some you may have to hunt, even though I've cropped them. He was very well camouflaged at times! I was amazed my camera could see him.

As always your comments are appreciated.

Don't know what this is. It was on a tall, reed-like plant growing in a water feature.

Wonderful set, Kathy! You avoided any "wash out" of the flowers from the bright sun. Your hummer shots are something I wish that I had done.

Thanks, Mike. Too much highlights on the flowers was something I was thinking about as they still had morning moisture on them. I don't usually even try on hummers, but these guys were right in front of me.

Great shots Kathy! I believe the yellow Iris is a Siberian Iris. Some just call it a water iris. I had some in my Koi pond in Tn.

Thanks, Jo. I haven't had time to look anything up, yet. The iris petals are white, not yellow. Does that change things?

No I don't think so Kathy. I think the Siberian water Iris (second picture) comes in several colors. Sorry, that one looked yellow on my screen. I'm thinking either my screen or my eyes need calibrating.
