Nice shots, the Jay likely has a nest in the immediate area, I and my Cats have been pecked on the back of the head more than once from nesting birds.

I was attacked by a Pair of Canada geese a couple mode, they came flying across the pond full throttle screaming, I grabbed the first one by the neck and it's mate took notice and turned away, I gently lowered her to the ground and walked away. I did all this without thinking , maybe instinct, it is amazing how strong that long thin neck is.

I really liked the wet rose and the Jay.
