Shot these just a few mins. ago using one layer of translucent diffusion paper .
I believe I will end up with double layer of ripstop.
As the lighting in theses to images seems a little harsh to me.
Agree or disagree?

I like the first photo, but wonder if the redbud is too dark?

Good work, Frank! If your goal is sharpness, I do not see anything wrong with the lighting. If you want a more "artistic" presentation, you might want to soften the light.

I agree with Fred. #2 is a little dark. They are both pretty sharp and I don't find the lighting to be that harsh.

Thank you very much Fred
Could be a little dark but that could be a difference in monitor brightness

The lighting might be a tad harsh in the first - I think a double layer diffuser would be a good comparison.
Nice work, Frank.

Not harsh at all to me; I really like the first shot.

Disagree. I like them both. First is definitely brighter but... , your photo. Now if it was a portrait, I would say to harsh. I guess a warming jell would throw off the White Balance, Y/N?

First: whom do disagree with? using the quote reply will help answer this question and avoid confusion. Yes in this case a warming gel would mess with the image, I'm not sure about the W/B but, I could warm the image in post.
