And another one from much longer ago, when I was still in England and before I had met my Jeannie.
This is Pharaoh in the back of our group-owned Piper Super Cub. I never took him flying despite Pharaoh loving to sit in the back but I reckoned that once in the air if he reacted to anything that would be a disaster for both of us.
Taken July, 2006. Pharaoh died June 19th, 2017 here in Oregon.
Back in the 80's there was a black Lab at the local FBO where I kept my C182. His name was Skidmark and he loved to fly. If you left your door open while doing the pre-flight(and we all did) he would slip into the back seat unnoticed, then on climbout he would pop up and lick the back of your head! So he was a passenger on many a flight. One day he disappeared for good for several months. I landed at Hartford Conn. and upon entering the FBO there was Skidmark! Someone apparently gave him a one way ride, the people there said he just appeared one day and wouldn't leave. Naturally I took him home to Brookfield Aviation on Long Island where he lived for many more years and flight hours!
