Although we didn't see any true rarities during our Friday morning monthly bird survey at the Bolsa Chica Wetlands in Huntington Beach, the warm weather brought out some beautiful birds. All were shot with my Nikon D500 using a Nikkor 200-500 mm superzoom, handheld but often braced on my tripod-mounted scope. It was cloudless and ranged in temperature from 70 to almost 90 degrees.
