Sandy's on its way. These two trees are pretty much at their peak, and after today, there's no assurance that they'll be very photogenic.

Nor any assurance that they will be standing. Nice colorful shots. 8-)

The maple tree was a housewarming gift from my aunt when we moved here in 1970. She thought we were crazy not to ask for dinnerware or something like that. But here it is, over 40 years later, and I think of her every time I step out the door. Not so crazy after all.

Same maple tree as the first, only after tne nor'easter hit. Actually, most of the leaves were still on the tree after Hurricane Sandy. However, we now have a tree leaning on the house. Not sure how much damage to the roof.
The second shot is of two crews from Pennsylvania and Ohio (Dayton). We lost power again this morning, and they were checking the area to see if there was additional damage, besides the trees that had fallen on the lines nearby. The third shot was of the back of the truck with "Sandy" rubbed out of the dirt. I thanked them for coming so far to help, and asked how they enjoyed the brisk weather (6 inches of wet snow, accompanied by wind) we had provided as a follow-up to the tropical storm.
