Probably a dumb question, but how do I reply to someone on the Affinity Photo forum who has responded in a topic I started? There is a box for replying to my topic but I see no way to respond directly to someone who has already posted a reply on my topic. What am I doing wrong?

For me, the easiest way is to click the "Quote Reply" button that then gives you a white box that shows their message. Enter your response to their response then click "Send". If you don't want your reply to be public send them a private message. I believe this is accessed by clicking on their name which brings up a lis of options. I rarely use this so I'm not real sure of what to click next. OK, I just checked and after clicking on their name a new screen appears that give the Send Private Message option near the top.

Thank you for your response. The way you describe it, it should be similar to the way we do it here on the UHH forum. But I cannot find a "Quote Reply" butt on the Affinity forum posts I'm looking at. I wonder if there are different ways to bring up the posts? In general, I find the Affinity Photo forum confusing and hard to navigate....

Oops! We have so many forums on UHH that I thought you were talking about this web site. After I looked around here I now realize you are talking about the Affinity Photo site. It's been a long day and my brain wants to check out.

Sorry about my confusion.

Bill

I was wondering about that. I think my brain is ready to check out too. Maybe tomorrow I'll have a eureka moment!

I would ask on the forum. If it is possible, someone should let you know. I think I only been on it once a few years ago when I first purchased AP. Good luck.

If you want to reply publicly, there is a blue "Reply to this topic" button at the top right of the discussion, just above the opening post.

If you want to reply privately to someone, hover your cursor over their user name. This will cause a pop-up box which has 3 options: Message, Find Content and Ignore. Click "Message" to reply. Hope this helps.

Thank you, David. I hesitated using the blue "Reply to this topic" button because I wanted to reply directly to the posters that helped me and not to my own topic. But I was probably overthinking this. Well, my wife always tells me I worry to much!...

On the remote chance that someone reads this and can benefit from my query on the Affinity forum: I am trying to apply sepia toning to a TIFF file of a scanned black & white film negative. All the guidance I saw seemed to apply only to color images brought into Affinity and then converted to B&W. Turns out I have to first convert my greyscale format to RGB before I can apply any toning!
