Yellow Sorrel In The Yard

I have Yellow Sorrel that just grows around my yard, Purple Sorrel in pots and the flower bed from plants I dug out of the yard of the house before this one and tiny little ground hugging yellow and purple things I don't know the name of around the yard at times. A variety of others I have planted or in pots (including milkweed) plus Ice Plant along one fence and of course Dandelions and Sow Thistle (they are the same family and their flowers look alike + puff balls).
These were growing in the shade of my west side fence next to a rose bush that just died.
I processed for the veins and details so the colors and saturation went off. But I got the details.
5DIV, Tamron 180macro, 1/1000 @ f/16, ISO-4000
hand held with the less than 1" flowers moving in a slight breeze

Robertjerl, a wow high color contrast photo. In addition to the high-color-contrast the shading detail is outstanding!! The almost moving tendrils make it an action photo... again Robert... WOW!

At 1/1000 of a second, the flower was not, in a practical sense, moving in the breeze. With older noisy at hi ISO cameras, I used fill flash to freeze any movement. Breeze movement in your "action" photo is stated by the hair-like portions of the aged flowers.

Would I do anything differently? Yes, in keeping with my being a cropaholic, I would crop the right side so my eyes could remain transfixed and digest the main message flower rather than wandering off in the low impact right, especially the out-of-focus cluster lower right. I was beaten by the Camera Club [pro] judges to remember and chant, "that which does not add to the photo subtracts."

Thank you

This was a quick full frame edit. Here is an alternate edit I tried and cropped in tight to 1:1
The flowers were moving a bit in the breeze plus I was bending down to get closer to the level of the flowers holding a 5DIV with battery grip and the Tamron 180 without anything to brace against, no monopod or tripod and lately I haven't been as steady as I used to be = 1/1000. Too much time in a zero gravity power lift/lounger with my feet up above my heart (doc's orders) and the heavest thing I am holding much is my 10" e-reader.
Here are two alternate edits I did, one at 1:1 and one cropped to 8x10.

Yes, hell to grow older as one man complained, now that I can afford the best steak, I dare not eat it.

Your crops focus on the story well. Thank you for sharing them. This photo is a Mind'sEye grabber.

I have often said that I can criticize others' photos but hard to see my own. Your photo brought up a question from a UHH photo friend in England about cropping or in-camera composition. I referred her to an old 1966 movie Blowup... he saw in the wide range a murder in the wooded area.

My usual thing is to leave space for cropping since if you don't have it your can't add it later and the subject may not be there for a redo. Not long after I took this photo the lawn guy came and the Yellow Sorrel around the yard just started putting out new blooms a couple of days ago.

Nice. I like the way the long "hairs" are highlighted.
