Greetings.
I recently reconnected with a friend who is, like me, an amateur photographer. He put together a website of his work and asked me if I had one. I did not. I used smugmug a few years before but had no real use for it, so let it expire.
I knew Adobe LR/PS subscribers could create a free (included in price) basic website, for display purposes. Adobe Portfolio.
So in a matter of a few hours I created the site. It is relatively easy in that the site integrates with LR CC (the web based version). I created collections in LR Classic, synched with LR CC and then made pages on the website.
FWIIW, Terry White has some good YouTube videos on this process. I like his low key style.
There are a 1000 ways to organize shots. By people, street, etc. in my case it was easier to organize by location of travel. I then created a page for favorites.
My purpose in writing this is to make others aware of the Portfolio option and to say that the process helped me kinda figure out how to better define my so called “style”. Travel photography with an emphasis on people.
Maybe a project to consider on a Sunday.
Thanks for taking the time to spread this information.

Thanks for the info, I will check it out. When one pays for a service, why not use all the options available.
I love using Portfolio to share my own travel photos. I have a second one, too, to share with my very large, extended family all the photos I’ve scanned over the years from my parents and grandparents- some of my nephews and nieces really enjoy being able to scroll through those old pictures.
That’s another one of the nice things about Portfolio, you can have 4 different websites if you want.
I’ll be curious to see what your referenced YouTubes have to say and maybe I can improve mine.
Thanks for sharing!

Once I rooted around and figured it out, it was relatively easy. The odd ball pop up menus on Portfolio can be a bit wonky and not intuitive, but do-able.

I jus looked at your photos. In Views: I know that view anywhere…Lae Nani in Kauai, right? Just spent February there, heaven on earth! Wish I ran into you when I was there!

I’ve been touting Portfolio as the most underused advantages of the Adobe subscription. It’s a great easy way to set up a professional looking website, with options for many different styles to choose from. I also got a domain from namecheap and set my Portfolio to that.
I just added to my signature but it’s still a work in progress.

Yes, Lae Nani it is. When we started going there, it seemed "affordable". It is getting harder to say that! I've never been anywhere more beautiful.

I agree that it is underused. Also underrated and underpriced.
Thanks for posting Richard.
