Thanks for the kind comments, I don't get up there nearly as often as I should, I live maybe about 40 or less miles from the parkway but up here that is about an hour's drive, and given the price of gas these days a day on the parkway will cost me about $50 in gas and I am limiting my driving. Anyway as the area comes back to life I will be spending some time both on the parkway and at a few area waterfalls.
Really nice. Very well-composed and nicely exposed.
Wow! What a shot. Beautiful. And at least 14 separate ridges to boot.
Excellent image, Geffory! Is that dawn or sunset? I love the Smokies! I just wish I lived closer than 3-4 hours.

Thanks again everyone for your kind comments, it is a sunset taken at the Waterrock Knob Visitor's Center pretty close to the Maggie Valley area. For those who know the area I live east of Cashiers and about 20 or so miles west of Bervard, I travel up Hwy 215 to the Parkway and generally drive west towards Tennessee, there are several overlooks along the way that offer spectacular 180 degree views, Waterrock Knob actually affords a 360 degree view, certainly worth finding Waterrock if you ever visit the area. As previously stated, it is in the Maggie Valley area.
