I had a couple of yellow iris over a month ago but they were in the middle of a milkweed plant and hard to photograph unless I wanted to pick them or destroy the milkweed.

Well this last week I got several buds in the Purple Iris planted area but a couple of days ago while the yard guy was using a weed eater around the old swing set some debris blasted the one just starting to open off. Then this morning I had one open and it is a pale purple/lavender, in the past these plants have had royal purple, lavender and royal purple with bright yellow/gold blooms.
Today is overcast so the lighting is "cloudy bright" with shadows very had to find so the whole yard is basically one big light box. I was aiming at bringing out the veins and texture so the color is a bit more saturated than the flower really is.

Thanks a lot. A few more buds look like they will be opening in the next week or so.
