I have been asked, to ask UHH infrared Users, if they have ever used the following companies (recently)? What were your experiences with them or if they have ever used the following companies and the pros and cons of these companies or is there an alternative company that does good work and is trustworthy? My friend is considering having an older camera (dslr) fixed so she can use it for shooting Infrared.
Thank you for any information you can share.

I had Lifepixel convert my Olympus PEN to UV/VIS/IR and they did an excellent job. Customer service was superb. Small problem, I don't know if they are still in business. There was a thread here within the last month stating they weren't answering phone calls, etc. My suggestion would be to convert a camera with "live view" and remove any focusing problems with IR. IR focuses behind the image plane of the camera, so without "live view" you would need to accomplish the refocus manually.
Life Pixel is still in business. they don't necessarily answer their phone. You have to leave a message. Both companies have been recommended By Deb Sandridge who teaches IR on Better Photo.

I converted a Nikon D70 with life pixel one month ago. Don't expect a quick response to emails or phone calls but the infrared conversion is superb. I shot infrared with a filter but the results are much better with the camera conversion. If you like playing Photoshop and plug in you can do some pretty wild stuff.
