From a pre-Raphaelite group shoot I did yesterday. Freezing cold, snow showers, bright, bright sunshine, we got it all but nothing deterred either the photographers or the models (there were three, two ladies and a gent). I have shoved the background over a bit in this but think it's still suitable for this section. Please leave critique if you have time, it is appreciated.

Beautiful model that fits the context. Wonderful composition, sharp and clear as would be expected from you

Thanks Curmudgeon. Yes, the model had taken a lot of trouble to provide that pre-Raphaelite look, so I tried to maintain the PRB principles by keeping the background reasonably sharp. I’ll post something of the other two models when I get to them, they all did very well.

The restrained editing suits the subject.

You know how hard that is for me RG! But you’re right, it didn’t want overdoing. Thanks for commenting.

Very nice!!! Lovely young lady
Have you thought about cropping the top to just below the rings on the columns?

Another fine example of your work. Without the backstory I would never guess it is a composite.

Thank you Manglesphoto. I thought of lowering the background before cropping a little off as you suggest. That way I would retain the bridge, which is a particular feature at this point in the park. I am a bit restricted with what I can do with the background as my available view is rather narrower than I’d like, but I will revisit to see what can be done. My trouble at the moment is lack of time and a lot of shots! I took over two thousand on this shoot and I’m off to tomorrow on another! Not due to bad planning on my part but a two year postponement of tomorrow’s shoot together with a change of venue, all due to covid. Life can get so difficult when you’re having fun. Now my legs are starting to complain due to the ups and downs of viewing angles and I’ve got a three-and-a-half hour drive each way. Oh to be young again, eh?

It's a pretty picture with a beautiful model in a beautiful costume.

If the photo were mine, I'd lose the right column and blur the background a bit, and then see if I'd like it that way.

(Aren't da Vinci's paintings a bit blurred and dreamy in the background? That's what I'd try to emulate.)

Yes, I take your point entirely Edie - but this is meant to be pre-Raphaelite, so the background must be in focus! It’s purely dependant upon which type of art you’re trying to emulate I guess. Your suggestion is perfectly valid to my mind. I appreciate you giving it some thought, many thanks.
