Math Problem

My iPad tells me that I have used 181 GB out of 256 GB of available storage.

It also tells me that my mail app alone uses 193GB of storage.

How does 1 app use more storage space than all apps combined?

Could it be iMath?

Not an expert, but I think you will find that the storage is your Mail app storage is your emails and attachments etc.

I believe that the top number represents your drive storage & the 193 is what was used data for the month for that app. Some or most have probably deleted. My email ,(eg. gmail) isn't stored on my ipad. It is somewhere in the sky.

If you tap on mail it will give you a breakdown. May shed some light.

Yes it is, but I have 4 outlook.com email accounts. Outlook caps you at 15GB, so even if I had maxed out on all accounts, which I have not, the Mail app should have used no more than 60GB.

Gmail is stored in the cloud, but when you open it in your iPad, it downloads a copy to your iPad. That’s why you can read old email when not connected to the internet.

The mail storage includes what's stored in the cloud.

Wow! I have been using Gmail for years. It stores everything on the Google servers. I have only used 4.1GB of the 15GB Gmail gives you for nothing.

Something sounds amiss...
