Finding that Topaz Sharpen update to 4.1.0 is taking me 15:00 minutes to sharpen a picture as opposed to 3:00 minutes with sharpen 3.3.6.

This sounds like a potential HW issue. What are the specs of your computer? (OS, CPU, RAM, disk, Graphics/GPU?). It may be that a HW upgrade of one of your components might make a big difference

Check the settings, you may have it doing something it didn't do before.
It does take a while, but it’s worth it. The biggest issue I have is running it 3x for motion, out of focus or just soft to see which one gives the best result, then sometimes deal with normal, very blurry, or very noisy. Each time you change a parameter it recalculates the preview image. I usually get up to go to the fridge for a snack or adult beverage when it processes the whole image even though my computer is no slouch.
Check the Preferences settings. The update may have switched processing from the GPU to the CPU.
as TriX suggested the computer is not up to snuff for dealing with modern AI programs.
There are some things you can do that may help... shutting down startup programs that consume resources**... adding more and/or faster memory. There are settings in the BIOS that are default and so fast memory is running at a slow speed. Switching from old mechanical hard drive to SSD solid-state will help. You may be relying on the MOBO video... adding even a mid-low-end $200 NVIDIA graphics card with 4 gig onboard would speed up the operations [mine is a 1050Ti]***. Without graphics with a good memory, you will be relying on the HDrive to do all the work.. slowly.
There are many DIY UTube videos on how to do the settings to get the computer to run faster and cleaner.
BUT
My guess is that it is time to retire your computer and build a new one with "gaming" parts that were good two years ago and are now discounted. Do a Google and there are budget builds with specific recommendations.

Thank you JimmyT There is a world under Preferences I have not explored. I was using it only to add plugin locations.
Mine (4 y/o HP, non-fancy laptop) takes 30 seconds.

That's strange. I updated a few days prior to receiving the email update. I had just started to use Sharpen when a pop up advised me there was new version. So, having been using it for a few days, I have not witnessed anything like 15 minutes to process a file. It may take even less time than the previous version.
Mileagemaker give us a photo to sharpen and have us time our computers and say what we are running.
My computer takes 8 seconds.
DIY built NVIDIA 1050Ti [4 gig DDR-5] 32 gig memory 3200 speed, HD is M2 MVMe, CPU AMD 3600, MSI Gaming Plus MOBO.
Check your settings to make sure you're using the GPU (and not the CPU).
Mileagemaker, no slow down in speed using the latest updates, but.....
JimmyT, thank you, had not noticed these options and set to CPU. Did not use graphic card as I have 2 cards for 3 monitors.
but...after installing the newest update to Sharpen yesterday, it requested I upload 155 "model (forget the actual names) files". I did so. This morning following JimmyT, I change my Preferences as suggested and it stated it wanted 800+ more. Again I agreed but declined the extended warranty for my car. If it slows down, I will let you know, but system is working great Note, most of the time I "round trip" to Topaz, so I stop other than internet use doing anything else. Hope this helps.
