...what you're presenting is history, why anyone would complain is beyond me. I was in Detroit in '68 for the VFW convention as a drum corps geek...got talked out of spending the night on Belle Isle in my sleeping bag. ;0)

I agree about seeing more. As for this one, I would like to see the uncropped shot. I wonder if this might have been cropped too tightly. I would have replumbed this so that the corner of the building would be true.

What does “picture perfect” mean in the context of the situation? Growing up, I read a lot of magazines like Life or Look that had photographs of people living their lives in their cities and neighborhoods. Most of those were gritty black & white images like this one. I think your image conveys the anger, desperation, being felt by the rioters over their situation, their treatment and loss of hope in improving their lives and standing in society. This image shows their reaction to those emotions and feelings.
