Note to self ...
Why? So she does not fall, or so it doesn't look like she is floating.
Maybe you're right; but, maybe it's a great photograph showing the bride "rising to the occaision," or so delighted with her nuptials that she is "walking on air."

Because she looks like she's levitating 8" above the floor!
I salvaged the image by cropping it 3/4 but thought the original is very funny.
Yep!! It's what can happen when an amateur shoots a wedding!

So happy she was floating on air? 😉
A levitation enchantment? Just the thing for height challenged brides! Still, a very nice photo!
I think the photographer should be given credit for the composition of the picture. The bride is CLEARLY the most important person in the picture and having her stand on the stair step gave her just that little boost that made the picture so charming.
Poul.
P.S. Tricks like that are good solutions until levitation becomes more common!!
Not to worry!
It's very appropriate to show women in an elevated position when they are dominating the world. . .

My problem with the cropped version is that, assuming those are her parents, it makes it look like she beat the odds in the genetic sweepstakes by being taller than both.
Sue,
This is the perfect opportunity to promote using Photoshop to correct a cropping problem. (There seems to be an ongoing discussion from people who don't "need" Photoshop. This image DOES need Photoshop.) You may/may not have noticed that the original exposure does not center the trio in the image. If you place the image in a frame, it will become very apparent to you. When you took the image, it appears that you were slightly askew to the subjects and the background. I hope you will forgive me for tinkering with your image, but with just a couple minutes in Photoshop, you will be able to place this image in a frame and it will not look off-center. You will notice there is more wall showing behind the mother than what shows behind the father. This is because the camera was not at a 90 degree angle to the subjects. I simply added more background wall behind the mother, in order to center the bride.
No worries Sue. It's still an important family moment and memory. I believe all viewers know that she has feet and will see them in their mind's eye but may not want an 8x10.
