I took this photo last week .
The young person stopped me and asked me to take it ..
For various reasons I've considered as one of my best shots .
Not because of the quality , in fact it's lousy , low light, high noise etc ..
But just for the natural look of the girl as well as the placard she is holding.
some thing about it strikes me as a great social documentary shot ..
I've showed it to friends and on facebook and explained my like for it.
But alas no one can see what I mean !!
Any Views ?
Good morning "luka",
A very pretty, and obviously, young girl expressing her firm and deeply felt belief / taking a stand to be proud of.
Excellent image really defining the expression "a picture is worth a thousand words".
Keep 'em coming "lukabulla" and all the best to you and yours,
Terry
The presence of noise was a common issue with high ISO film. It never stopped anybody from admiring the quality of an image.
This is a good shot but it would have been more dramatic during a demonstration with the girl surrounded by other people. Looking at the camera and smiling is not the best representation of which she stands for.
This image should look better converted to b&w.
Just my opinion.
I’m wondering why she asked you to take it.
Just youthful exuberance? Maybe she thought you were a reporter? Why would someone ask a stranger to take their picture?
Works for me! A form of street photography & a social statement. Her smile & innocent looking face demonstrates that she & other black lives do indeed matter!
Oh I get it often at demonstrations / protests / etc ..
People ask me to take their photo .
Yes she prob assumed me to be a journalist ..
or she thought it a fun thing to do .. only she knows the answer .

Her face betrays her message.
First thought was to do some post production in Lightroom or Photoshop, but no: the ambience of the light makes it. As does her broad smile contrasting with her message. Good photo.
Yes there is that aspect
Though I would say her face says ... At the end of the day , we are nice people..
Though an angry face may give people another msg not so sympathetic ..

I took this photo last week . br The young person ... (
show quote)
Great photo. My initial honest reaction was that the smile belies the seriousness of the issue.
Yes, natural has an appeal to it.
I like it very much. The message is front and center, the right side shows a young girl who appears to feel good about what she is doing, and the left side gives us a sense of place.
Thanks for posting Luke.
