Taken with an Olympus (model forgotten) with 2.1 megapixels in 2003.
A passing shower had interrupted us, but not for long.
Found this on a CD (remember them?) that fits into a CD reader which needs a power supply.
I had to open up an old laptop because my MacBook Pro does not have USB ports. The peripheral that I use has USB ports, but unpowered.
Does anyone know of any device I can use with my MacBook Pro to enable the cd reader?
Nice shot.
(I remember CDs. My tower has two DVD drives, my laptop one.)
if you are able to connect your mbp to an external ubs, you should be able to connect it to a powered usb hub that will provide a connection between the mbp and the cd reader while powering the reader. I use a powered hub for almost all usb connections to my elderly mbp (2012).

How old is your MacBook Pro?
I just read the specs on a 2021 MBP and it has thunderbolt ports that can be used to connect usb with adaptors

Your MBP has USB ports, they might just be USB 3 or TB. Adapters, and cables, are readily available, as a portable CD drive usually uses a USB A connector. I own such a portable CD that I plug in when needed, but find I use it less that once a year. Best of luck.
To all: Apple repair will be fixing my MBP.
