Stoneleigh is designated as Natural Lands and is open daily from 10am to 5pm. There are over 40 acres with well maintained paved paths, restrooms, benches (throughout), covered table/seating areas, and beautifully maintained grounds with a large variety of trees (labeled) which are home to many birds and other wildlife. I’ve heard that some long-eared owls are resident there but I didn’t see any. It’s a great place for a walk - or a picnic. There are two parking lots off of County Line Avenue in Villanova.

Today was my first visit - an adjacent property of 13.5 acres was purchased by the local school district which wants to cut down most of the very old trees and put buildings on it. Owls, fox, coyotes, and many other wildlife will be displaced. A group that is fighting to preserve the land saw some of my photos on Facebook and contacted me to photograph the wildlife there. I'll be joining at least one person on Tuesday to do a walk through. So, today I decided to see what Stoneleigh is like - and wow - it's really awesome. I'll be taking many walks there this summer.
I went there around noon today and saw several small birds - got rained on but the walk was enjoyable.

Wow, fabulous set, Elliott. The downloads are beautiful. Each is special in its own way but there is something about the robin image that captures my imagination and makes me feel it is about to move; really, it is a beautifully weird sensation.

Thank you, Joe. Sometimes I get that feeling when around wildlife.

Thanks, Barbara. It will be challenging - will probably wind up at a zoning commission hearing and/or court. I've testified as an expert witness in Federal Court before, so I'm okay doing this.

Wonderful pictures. I didn't realize what the Nut Hatch was (different than what we have here). But I should have known. What else can 'hang' like that!
