Nice work and interesting subject. You could life the midtones to improve the exposure.

This is the south side of Blaven which is in the Cuillins on the Isle of Skye, Scotland. I didn't have a lens wide enough so I did a 5 shot, portrait oriented hand-held pano.

Thank you anotherview. One problem I had was that there was some haze that got worse if the mid-tones were lifted too high. Apart from that, the mountain is the main attention grabber so I was happy to leave the foreground slightly subdued.

I am glad you did not have a shorter lens. Your vertical panoramas probably did a better job.

A fine job! Panoramas are a good alternative to a wide-angle lens, and they even have some advantages. Wide-angle lenses have significant stretching at the edges of the image and this can be avoided with a panorama, because each of the individual shots covers a smaller angle.

I've made a lot of panorama shots--of my 46,000 images on Flickr, 600 are panoramas.

Indeed. Less distortion is probably one of the advantages (assuming that the stitching software is doing a good job).

Not to mention the extra resolution that panos have. Thanks for commenting.
