Spent nine days there setting up a home we are going to be using as an air B&B so mostly a working vacation. My wife only allowed me about six hours one afternoon and one morning for about three hours to do photography. All the shots were taken at Magnolia Gardens or the Pitt Street Park in Old Village, Mt. Pleasant, SC except for the large view of the container ship which was taken from my daughter and her husband's dock.

Beautiful! My parents retired to HH Island years ago, and I've always wanted a container ship shot, but still don't have. Here you've got two great ones!

Very interesting shots. I especially like the flowers.

Thanks! My daughter and son-in-law bought a house last year with a dock that goes out to deep water so they can launch their boat anytime they want and not have to wait for high tide. Their dock is just south of the Wando Terminal along the Wando River. A couple of times a day you can see these huge ships up close and personal! Here are a couple more shots for you. The last shot is of the largest container ship to ever call on the east coast of the US. It held almost 19,000 containers (or 20 ft. equivalents). There are some that carry 22,000 but those are ones owned by China and call on the larger ports along the western seaboard. I thought I was going to miss photographing it since it had been noted in the Charleston newspaper the previous day and I was packing the car to head home to Nazareth. Then I saw it coming up the river and hurriedly unpacked some camera gear. If you find yourself in the Charleston area, let me know and I will tell my daughter to let you hang out on her dock for a while.
