Darktable import question

For those that use Darktable, how do I import Sony .ARW raw files for editing? Do they have to be converted to .DNG or something similar? If so, what program do you use to convert them? Thanks for any help you can provide!

I use Darktable, but am a Nikon user.

Thank you for the link! It does indeed state that it will import the .ARW files, but they don't seem to want to load for some unknown reason. I guess I'll figure it out eventually.

I generally shoot RAW+JPEG and my new/used camera puts them into the same folder on the SD card, where my Pentax K3 has two card slots and separates them in the camera. Anyway, if the RAW and JPEG files are in the same folder, Darktable will only import the JPEG's unless you either separate them manually first or tell it to "Ignore JPEG" on import. It had just never been a problem before and now it's no big deal either. Thanks again for link above and good luck and good shooting to all.
